This is clerical and administrative work of intermediate complexity in the Climate Action and Energy division. The Clerk 2 will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating a variety of records, files, s and system data, processing work orders and customer service requests, managing schedules, providing information and answering a variety of inquiries from both internal and external clients via telephone and in-person, performing general office duties such as typing, spreadsheet work and compiling and reviewing data as assigned. Clerical duties involving the use of a variety of software programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Energov, Infor/Hansen, GIS, SAP will also be required. Provides information including by-laws and departmental rules and regulations to staff and the public, directs calls and visitors, receives and checks a variety of material for accuracy and completeness. Posts, maintains, summarizes and balances elementary detailed records. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12, preferably supplemented by or including standard commercial courses, and some experience in general office and clerical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern activities in the department. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public and other employees. Ability to make minor decisions in accordance with laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures. Proficiency in utilizing software such as SAP, Energov, Infor/Hansen, GIS is preferred, as is knowledge and understanding of municipal operations responsibilities, practices and procedures. Skill in making simple arithmetical computations, and filing, sorting, checking, and maintaining office records.
This is a temporary full time position until April 29, 2025.
