AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Program Manager, Information Technology, this position creates specifications for automated applications. Performs system analysis and design to develop applications using client/server and browser based tools. Maintains existing applications. Test systems and programs. Train users, developers and staff in the functional/technical aspects of the applications.
Creates specifications for automated applications using information from the user department and knowledge of the industry.
Develops applications utilizing client/server and browser based tools.
Maintains existing applications. Analyzes user requests for system enhancements and takes action to accommodate requests.
Tests all systems and/or programs to ensure accuracy and develops test data;
Creates and/or updates user and system documentation as application modifications are implemented.
Assists in developing project schedules with Project Managers and ensures all work is completed within the project schedule.
Trains users, and other IT staff in the functional/technical aspects of the applications developed.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
High school (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional program of over two and up to three years in Computer Programming, or equivalent.
Over two (2) years, up to and including four (4) years related experience
Good understanding of relational database design and SQL.
Experience with SQL Server, and/or Oracle database.
Knowledge of Visual Studio, Filemaker Pro, Office365, Sharepoint
Strong analytical skills coupled with demonstrated creative abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Must be able to work within established timelines in a fast paced development environment.
Excellent verbal, written and public relations skills required with a commitment to customer service.
