Description
The Investment Banking Associate will be involved in all facets of JMP’s investment banking activities and will play an integral role in supporting the origination and execution of a broad range of transactions, including private and public financings (equity, equity-linked and debt), mergers and acquisitions and other advisory services across the group.
JMP is seeking an experienced Associate to join its Technology Investment Banking Group in San Francisco. The Technology Investment Banking Associate will be involved in all facets of JMP’s investment banking activities and will play an integral role supporting the origination and execution of a broad range of transactions, including private and public financings (equity, equity-linked and debt), mergers and acquisitions and other advisory services across the Technolgoy Investment Banking Group.
The specific responsibilities of the Associate include, but are not limited to, financial analysis and modeling, conducting industry and company-specific research, coordinating the various processes involved in a financing or sale, and the preparation of pitch materials, client presentations, offering memoranda, proposals, and other written materials for meetings with clientele.
JMP offers junior banking professionals the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers and have direct interaction with current and prospective clients within JMP’s technology coverage universe, spanning enterprise software, internet & digital media and cybersecurity. The Technology team is an active underwriter of IPOs and follow-on offerings including Snapchat, Mindbody, Atlassian, Workday, Okta, Grubhub and GoPro. Additionally, the team has been a leading adviser to firms regarding mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises such as the sale of ZenPlanner to Daxko and the acquisition of Revitas by Model N.
Financial analysis

Coordinating various processes involved in a financing or sale
Interacting with client management teams
Assisting in Managing M&A/advisory transactions
Preparing pitch materials & client presentations
Preparing offering memorandums & proposals
Preparing other written materials for client meetings as needed
Qualifications
Strong project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Strong finance, analytical and communication skills
Strong leadership and team working skillsSuperior work ethic
Bachelor’s degree along with outstanding academic achievement
2-3 years of directly relevant investment banking experience, particularly within specific sector
Series SIE, 63 & 79 licensing preferred (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
40 hours per week minimum
Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
