Overview of the role

The Human Resources (HR) Associate is an intermediate level position responsible for the delivery of day-to-day HR support in coordination with the Human Resources team. The overall objective of this role is to provide a broad range of HR services to client groups within Citi.

Responsibilities

• Work across full range of HR activities, including employee relations, organizational design and staffing, leadership development, performance management, compensation, and organizational effectiveness
• Facilitate organizational change as required by the business and support Lead HR Generalist on annual compensation review, performance, and talent processes
• Assist with the management of all HR issues related to employees and provide advice and guidance on Citi policy and procedures
• Assist employees with basic questions, benefits escalations, Leave of Absence (LOA), and liaising with ConnectOne, when necessary
• Assist with projects such as Diversity Analysis, Talent Review, Performance and Compensation, Review, Voice of the Employee (VOE) Action Planning, and site-specific activities and ad hoc project requests, as required
• Liaise with Immigration, Recruiting, Learning and Development, Compensation, and other HR Teams where appropriate
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

• Beneficial to have some relevant HR experience from a similar role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Proven track record of delivery in a busy environment.

Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.

Education

• Degree in Business, Human Resources Management or related discipline preferred

Skills

• Advanced skill set with MS Office, particularly Excel, Powerpoint, Word. Knowledge of WebEx and capability of working with SharePoint advantageous.

Key Tasks

Employee Relations

• Investigate fully and manage the adjudication of background screening discrepancies. Liaise with HR Professional Services Generalists and Employee Relations to obtain necessary approvals.
• Support the pre-offer Employment of Relatives Process to ensure the process is followed as appropriate.
• Manage script and letter bank of materials. Maintain shared files for the team ensuring all required documents are available, up-to-date and organized.
• Liaise with ER team for changes to standard letters, query resolution & seeking exceptions
• Partner with HRPS Generalist in managing probationary reviews or capability cases, as appropriate. This may include producing minutes, letters and general co-ordination associated with the procedures.
• With support, provide advice and guidance to managers on basic ER issues, ensuring the management population is kept up-to-date on policy issues and any employment law risk is effectively managed.
• Provide advice and guidance to employees on Citi Policies & Procedures, if escalated from HRSS.
• Work with other HR colleagues and specialists whose services have an impact on the employment relationship (e.g. Reward & Mobility, Learning, Resourcing and Employee Relations).

Event Management & General Administration

• Organising and booking all visitor logistics
• Event Management
• General HR Admin e.g. stationary orders, purchase orders
• Senior Manager Travel & Expense Management
• File and storage Management
• General support as required by Head of HRPS
• Other general activities to support the HR Function

Employee Reward

• Respond to Requests for Information from Resourcing to provide Compensation and Performance information in support of the internal mobility process.
• Support the annual performance review process by running reports from GTMS at key intervals, as required.
• Support the production of promotion letters to the required standard and work closely with the Compensation Team to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

Employee Learning and Development

Participate in the annual VOE cycles by validating the VOE organisational structure, translations and organising and interpreting VOE populations and reports.

Assist in the roll out of business HR Training. e.g. Induction, Select Benefits, Absence etc

Review time to train requests and manage approval process and issue of training agreements.

Reports

• Conduct exit interviews and report on trends or specific issues raised.
• Work with the HCRA COE and request reports as required.

Projects

• Co-ordinate and deliver individual projects and support HRPS Generalist on larger team projects.
• Initiation and participation in project initiatives to improve HR productivity through process reengineering.
