We are seeking an Instructional Developer to join our People & Culture team. The Instructional Developer is responsible for providing technical expertise to assist professional workgroups in the area of developing digital training that leverages the data tracking/reporting capabilities of the Learning Management System. Supports projects internally and is responsible for tasks and assignments associated with the development of training. This requires collaboration with internal teams, external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule.
Instructional Developer
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:
Work with stakeholders from different parts of the organization to analyze their needs and develop robust training solutions that meet their needs
Serves as technical lead – collaborating with Instructional Designers, Managers, and staff to provide technical solutions to address business needs
Prioritize technical development of training needs
Develops technical standards, tools, and processes
Assists in training evaluation strategy
Assist in creating instructional design processes to support enhanced capabilities
Work independently with Instructional Designers, internal subject matter experts (SMEs), training facilitators to design, develop, and deliver solutions
Develop/build training materials, including eLearning Modules, Videos, interactive PDFs, and Assessments, compatible with the data tracking capabilities of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Develop/build instructional programs that leverage new technologies and multimedia
Apply interaction design and interactive learning principles to instructional solutions for adult learners
Select, modify, and integrate existing instructional materials that employ multimedia and emerging technologies
Collaboration with internal teams, external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule.
Coaches subject matter experts at all levels on Digital Training development
Plan, coordinate, and develop support materials and communications for divisional and/or corporate projects
Develops IDev standards, tools, and processes
Have a deep understanding of LMS data tracking/reporting
Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation
Develop assessments that measure learner outcomes including productivity and understanding
Develop and communicate timelines and provide updates to stakeholders.
Prioritize effectively to manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
Capable of LMS Administrator tasks, including upload of new content, updated to existing content and curricula creation
Runs Quality Assurance of Digital Training
Reviews and helps update job aids, training materials and other content to ensure ongoing accuracy
Management and organization of training content
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Multimedia Production or related degree or ID certifications preferred
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Two (3) years experience in Graphic Design or Multimedia Development
Five (5) years experience in eLearning Development preferred
Two (2) years experience with ID/LXD tools such as Captivate, Storyline, Rise, preferred
Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Indesign, and Illustrator preferred
Experience in designing and developing computer-based training and lessons to be used in a variety of delivery media is required
Knowledge of adult learning theories with the ability to create content relevance by mapping courses with perceived learner needs and plan instructional strategies relevant to a wide variety of adult learners
Experience with documentation of training
Experience with LMS data tracking/reporting
