Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Hiring for Education Consultant ~ .8 at Cincinnati, OH Full Time

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for a variety of training and development duties throughout the hospital. Much of the work focuses on ensuring that nurses have the skills and training to succeed in their individual units.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs a comprehensive evaluation of the education activity and interprets progress toward attainment of outcomes at the system level.

Employing formalized processes, collects and analyzes trending data from the organization and community to determine educational needs. Works closely with Ed. Specialist to achieve a comprehensive learning needs assessment and analyzes / validates individual point of care and organizational education needs. Formal assessment of learning needs is completed at least every 3 years house-wide

Applies a depth of expertise to plan, design and develop educational programs, technologies and/or support systems to achieve desired educational objectives. Assumes a leadership role in recognizing and communicating educational issues and trends to the point of care educators and with point of care education councils. Considers regulatory standards/criteria and CCHMC strategic goals in developing educational initiatives.

• Consultation and Implementation

Synthesizes information and feedback to influence learning plans. Provides direction and consultation to enhance the abilities of others to learn and impact change at the system level.

Integrates research, EBP & QI findings into practice at the system and community level. Pursues opportunities and conducts professional development research.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND Master’s degree in a related field
• 5 – 7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• OH License in clinical discipline
