Junior Developer

Reporting to: Operations Director

Location: Westfield Office

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsible for:

Working with others to create readable, easy-to-use dashboards to present business data from SQL / postgreSQL databases via RESTful APIs.

Applying Agile methodology to development projects; keeping all data organised and securely stored in the AWS cloud implementation.

The business is data-driven. Business operations use websites and portals, and a range of IT systems; these generate a mass of data, which needs to be analysed and interpreted so that it forms the basis for business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

A Working with others:

• Designing and developing web-based, data dashboards presenting a wide range of business data with data export capability.
• Developing RESTful APIs and endpoints.
• Scripting SQL enquiries and combining and presenting data from different tables.
• Writing unit tests to ensure all code is bug-free and the data being displayed is accurate.
• Following Agile methodology for code development and deployment.
• Ensuring that all code and data is safely secured within the AWS environment.

B Requirements
· Experience, knowledge or understanding in some of the following:

• Developing JavaScript code.
• Website development.
• NodeJS, Git, and integrating front-end applications with RESTful API applications.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web-design principles.
• The Bootstrap library.
• Scrum-led, Agile development environment.
• TDD methodology and the creation of unit and component tests, and e2e testing.
• Wireframes, Storyboards, Mock-ups, and UX.

Background

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Web Design, or a related field is required.

Salary: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
