Christian Aid Hiring for Financial Accountant Job at London, England Full Time

This role is based in UK in our London office (with the opportunity to work from home on some days each week in line with Christian Aid’s hybrid working approach).

About the role

Reporting to Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant works closely with the wider Christian Aid (CA) organisation to contribute to maintaining a strong control environment and to meet all external financial compliance and reporting commitments. The role holder should be able to step up and deputise for the Financial Controller as required.

About you

You will be/have…

• Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA)
• Successful track record of Financial Control based roles
• Experience of compiling Group Statutory accounts with international branches and subsidiaries
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively and efficiently with finance and non-finance staff in London and internationally
• Ability to indirectly manage peers and internationally based finance teams
• Experience of reviewing and updating policies and procedures
• Ability to explain complex financial issues to non-financial staff
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (or similar) at an advanced level
• Advanced SUN systems knowledge (including transactional and journal posting)
• Working knowledge of complex accounting systems
• Strong analytical skills and able to review financial information for consistency and accuracy
• Knowledge of UK GL payroll posting and reporting
• Knowledge of VAT, tax and trading issues
