Community Housing Limited (CHL) Group of Companies is an innovative and best practice affordable housing organisation which assists access to, develops and manages sustainable housing for people in need. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to come and join our team. This permanent, full time role is based at our Box Hill office with flexibility to work from home two days per week.

The HR Business Partner is the first point of contact on any workforce related matters. The role contributes to key HR projects including new systems, processes and programs and executes and champions employee and organisational change management initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

The HR Business Partner will provide best practice HR consultancy and services across all stages of the employment life cycle, primarily by building effective relationships with line managers to ensure a sound understanding of the HR needs and issues related to their teams.

You will:

• Provide advice and support to managers, staff and volunteers across the employee lifecycle
• Conduct investigations as required and provide reports and recommendations to senior managers
• Conduct exit interviews with departing staff members and support recruitment
• Case manage both Work Cover claims and non-work-related injuries and illnesses
• Ensure the effective implementation of organisation wide HR initiatives at a local level and participate in the planning and delivery of key HR projects
• Support line managers to ensure mandatory compliance training and applicable probity checks are completed by their teams
• Participate in policy, procedure and process development and implementation as required ensuring a cycle of continuous improvement is embedded in services provided to internal and external customers

What will success look like?

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a similar field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a comparable HR business partnering role
• Demonstrated experience in dealing with ER and IR related matters and change management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation and time management skills and a high level of attention to detail
• Intermediate level in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing
