Compensation: Dependent upon position and experience. We offer standard salaries in our industry, but we start you with projects to prove yourself then promote from there. Staff Accountant

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with minimum of 4 years’ experience preferred or equivalent experience.
• Background in understanding and applying accounting concepts. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and the testing of supporting documentation
• Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business environment.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• End-to-end process orientation with problem solving skills
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, time prioritization, and ability to multi-task
• Strong PC, typing, worksheet (excel, google sheets) and word processing skills
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Public Accounting experience is required
• Working knowledge of QBO and workflow software a plus

How you will lead

• Prepare journals entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met. Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded, substantiated, and communicated.
• Continually assess and design desk procedures and process flows. Ensure that these work flows are designed to maximize internal controls and efficiency.
• Applies professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying support and documentation.
• Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management.
• Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.
• Participate in the month and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
• Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for senior management, prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
• Effectively assess risk over accounts and areas of responsibility. Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact, properly supported, and operating effectively.
