Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager (from a public accounting firm) to lead and manage multiple operations of the tax, payroll and accounting practice area and to deliver quality accounting and payroll services, that will increase the firm’s reputation.

You will serve as a business advisor to our clients aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes. You will be a face of our organization. We are looking for those who can carry conversations, are presentable, and who has outstanding professionalism in writing and in person. Please be sure you are comfortable developing relationships and meeting with client’s nationwide via zoom.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of accounting services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
• Manage and train junior level staff on processes
• Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
• Identify and mitigate risks
• Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance
• Manage accounting provision and compliance processes
• Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
• Manage and coordinate daily, monthly, annual tasks
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives

Skills

• Proven work experience as an accounting manager
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, QBO and databases
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills
• Analytical skills with detail orientation
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• BA or MA in Accounting

How you will lead Prepare journals entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met. Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded, substantiated, and communicated with stakeholders.

• Continually assess and design desk procedures and process flows. Ensure that these work flows are designed to maximize internal controls and efficiency.
• Applies professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying support and documentation.
• Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management.
• Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.
• Participate in the month and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
• Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for senior management
• Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact, properly supported, and operating effectively.

Compensation:

Dependent upon position and experience. We offer standard salaries in our industry, but we start you with projects to prove yourself then promote from there. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
