• Check guests in / out of rooms
• Take reservations
• Show rooms to tourists
• Answer the telephone and expedite calls to management or take messages
• Answer guests’ and visitors’ questions
• Make arrangements for guests’ luggage to be taken to their rooms or the docks, help with luggage, and communicate with the porters and the Housekeeping Staff
• NA’s should familiarize themselves with Mackinac Island to offer an excellent source of information to guests and visitors on a regular basis
• Perform nightly floor checks
• Handle shift incidents and injury reports
• Settle hotel EOD(End of Day) accounts
• Fill out nightly excel sheets
• Send email shift reports to upper management
• Close out tills
• Perform money drops
• Schedule guest wake-up calls
• Fill lobby water and snack areas
• Make morning coffee
• Set up housekeeping sheets.

Requirements:

• Must have a high attention to detail, good time-management skills, typing skills, math/counting skills, computer /bookkeeping skills, and accurate money/cash handling skills.
• Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel).
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand written & verbal instructions given in the English language.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. of luggage when needed.
• Able to perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as lifting, balancing, climbing, stooping, bending, and standing for shift periods.
• Must be able to abide by the company confidentiality policy & work individually or on a team with efficiency.
• Must have a friendly, positive attitude, pleasant phone manners, and be dedicated to customer service.
