Child Development Council of NEPA Hiring for Lead Teacher Pre-K Counts Job at Hazleton, PA Full Time

This is a Lead Teacher position. The person selected for this position must be professionally prepared in the field of early childhood education (active PA teaching certificate in ECE is a requirement for this program) and must be able to meet the requirements of DHS, PDE and Keystone STARS. This person must be able to relate well to both children and adults.

Tasks:

• Planning the learning environment in cooperation with the Assistant Teacher, setting up interest areas, and preparing the needed materials and supplies in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Council and based on The Creative Curriculum and research based practices.
• Provide a developmentally appropriate educational program based on individual interests, culture, abilities.
• Positively interacting with children all through the day including during family style meals
• Actively engaging with children while on the playground
• Maintaining attendance records, daily written communication with families regarding meals, activities; anecdotal and portfolio based recording of individual growth and development, assessing the developmental progress of the children
• Conducting parent conferences focused on children’s academic progress and behavioral needs
• Treating children with dignity and respect
• Providing an aesthetically pleasing and clean learning environment/ assisting in the maintenance of the school
• Working with all Center staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,440.00 per year
