Education Coach/Data Entry Support

General Description

The Education Coach/Data Entry Support is responsible for providing coaching, mentoring and other support teaching staff based on an evidence-based coaching framework. Coaching promotes high quality teaching and strong child outcomes. Coaches develop relationships with teaches through observations and creating coaching plans to drive effective teaching practices for centered based partner programs. Coaches support data entry of outcomes and pertinent program information in the agencies data management system.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Measure classroom quality and staff’s utilization of best practice and strategies, through ongoing classroom observations, analysis of data related to teaching practices, and examination of children progress in CCR&R’s identified school readiness goals.
• Assess all education staff to identify strengths, areas of need support, and collaborate with the Education Manager which staff would benefit from intensive coaching.
• Create and implement coaching plans for identified teachers, to include focused goals and strategies to achieve goals that drive improved teacher practices and child outcomes.
• At the end of each coaching sessions, provide a Coaching Report to classroom staff, Site Directors, and supervisor. Ensure all coaching outcomes are entered into COPA.
• Establish collaborative relationships with classroom staff that supports achievement of coaching plan goals by using face to face and remote (i.e., via video, or other technologies) coaching strategies such as, but not limited to, observing, modeling, co-teaching, side by side teaching, and co-planning.
• Provide feedback to teachers that is clear and constructive.
• Compile and interpret program data (ex, child assessment, curriculum, etc.) for the purpose of determining focus areas for coaching and professional development..
• Ensure follow-up time in a timely manner that supports improvement if effective teaching practices.
• Collaborate with Education Manager, classroom staff, and Site Directors to plan and /or deliver pre-service, in service, and other training consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, licensing standards, CCR&R mandates, child outcomes, and other identified training needs.
• Support teachers with curriculum implementation, MyteachingStrategie, and other teacher practices.
• Participate on various agency committees that are formed to address initiatives, tasks and issues as requested and/or approved by supervisor.
• On an ongoing basis and as requested provide data and reports on coaching outcomes, child outcomes, teacher’s implementation of required timelines, i.e, parent teacher conferences, home visits, developmental screening, child observation reviews etc.
• Maintain regular communication with Education Manager and Director of Early Learning Programs.
• Provide other reports and documentation as required by Supervisor.
• Maintain regular communication with classroom staff, site directors, administrative staff via phone calls, and email.
• Other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission of CCR&R, Head Start Performance Standards, and state licensing regulations.
• Assist program staff with data entry input in COPA, IWAS, Myteachingstrategies, and other data management sites as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. All degree must come from a regionally accredited institution which has U.S. department of Education approval
• Three to Five years as an early childhood teacher; preferably infant toddler and twos, trainer or coach.
• Ability to communicate, receive and transfer written, oral, and electronic information effectively.
• Effective coaching and mentoring skills to support adult learning and professional development
• Knowledge and experience supporting the implementation of high quality teaching and instructional practices.
• Ability to guide motivate staff in their professional growth
• Ability to design and deliver training and technical assistance
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Illinois Early Learning Standards, and developmentally appropriate practices for infants, toddlers, and twos.
• Ability to collect and analyze data and make recommendations accordingly.
• Computer skills including the following Microsoft application: Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive team member
• Pass DCFS background check and drug testing.
• Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
• Ability to use good judgement and work under pressure
• Ability to adapt to change
• May be locally with own vehicle and attend occasional evenings abd weekend meetings.
• May be required to carry, lift, or move equipment, materials, or supplies weighing up to 40lbs.
• Reliable transportation with insurance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
