Overview:
In this role you will have the daily opportunity to directly impact the user experience for millions of Chick-fil-A customers. This engineering role will be tasked with designing and implementing solutions for Chick-fil-A’s MenuDNA team. This team is responsible for enterprise Menu and Pricing systems that power our Digital Commerce ecosystem. This includes the Chick-fil-A mobile application, Chick-fil-A.com digital experiences, digital menu boards, and the point-of-sale devices in all Chick-fil-A restaurants – all of our commerce channels. The team will provide APIs used by the different customer channels and provide administrative interfaces for our restaurant users and corporate staff to manage the menu and pricing data. This product area will include three different streams of work – Menu Builder, Menu Publishing, and Pricing. This engineering role will also work very closely with our other engineering teams to power the promise of our brand through all digital channels.
You’ll serve as an expert problem solver and software engineer for the MenuDNA team. You will apply the technical experience you have gained in software development to the design, development, and delivery of highly engineered, complex technical products.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software solutions
- Serve as a model developer in programming languages like Java, JavaScript (Angular/React), Python, and Go
- Exercise skills in infrastructure and deployment services like AWS and Kubernetes as well as areas like application security, data analytics, machine learning, and site reliability engineering
- Be a champion for the adoption of Chick-fil-A software engineering standards
- Working in a DevOps model, this opportunity includes both building and running solutions that could require off hours support. This support is shared amongst the team members to cover weekends and weeknights. The goal is to design for failure and, using cloud-native infrastructure patterns, automate responses to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Broad and deep programming experience in Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or other comparable languages
- Experience with SQL and data modeling
- Experience with source control systems like Git or Subversion
- Experience implementing application security, software design patterns, and the SDLC
- Good interpersonal and team collaboration skills
- Experience working in and around web-based applications and APIs
- Experience writing unit tests and the skills to write code that is easy to test
- Experience doing root cause analysis of problems or defects that involve multiple collaborating systems and teams

Strong understanding of the advantages of cloud computing and technology

Experience working with the full lifecycle of a product, from concept to delivery and maintenance
