Coaches have the continual privilege of positively impacting the lives of children by teaching life skills through the game of chess. We are currently hiring for an online position. At Chess4Life, a desire to help kids learn, grow, and develop is more important than chess skills. Coach positions are a great opportunity for anyone interested in a rewarding work experience.

Job Requirements

• Must enjoy working with children and display a high degree of patience
• Must be safety and security conscious
• Must have good computer skills and be comfortable teaching online
• Must be able to lead and interact with groups of kids in constructive and dynamic ways
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively with children, their parents, and staff
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in a professional business context
• Efficient and flexible
• Able to take initiative
• Be highly punctual and organized
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Must pass a thorough background check
• Desire for self-improvement, learning more and working as a part of a team.

Technical Skills

• Strong familiarity with computers, email, and documents

• Ability to keep accurate records

Compensation / Schedule:

• Position Type: Hourly Non-Exempt

• Hourly wage: $18 to $22 / hour, Based on Experience

• Schedule: 1pm- 7pm Pacific Time (It is critical that the schedule is a good fit for you. Please review carefully. The schedule will fluctuate slightly based on the season but in general, this is the schedule

• 30 (40 hour weeks may be possible)
