Job Summary:
The Talking Cedar Accountant is a full charge professional who participates in all daily and month end accounting of Talking Cedar. To include general ledger, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, and other subsidiary ledgers. Prepares month-end reconciliation work-papers for the preparation of financial statements. Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure the safeguard of Tribal assets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Confirms all journal entries are properly recorded and supported as part of the monthly closing process and prepare month end adjustments as needed.
2. Performs daily accounting tasks such as processing payments, cash receipting and routine journal entries. Use modules of the Sage 100 ERP accounting program for processing accounting transactions; to include G/L, A/P, A/R, & Bank Rec. Job costing and inventory accounting as assigned. Assures wires and payments are processed and posted accurately and timely.
3. Perform function of job using Orchestrated Beer Software.
4. Reconciles the general ledger accounts in a timely fashion for assigned business entities and in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
5. Ensures that all payroll reporting deadlines, rules and regulations are met, using ADP payroll processing. Prepare payroll entries to GL, and related payments.
6. Maintain journal entry binders and assures all filing of records is timely and efficient.
7. Maintains fixed asset inventory, purchases and implements tracking systems to protect assets.
8. Assists with the annual financial audit and other compliance audits, such as mandated by Tribal-State compacts, by preparing schedules and serving as a client point of contact.
9. Performs special projects to improve financial performance and efficiency of Talking Cedar.
10. Monitors cash activity including, bank reconciliations and/or review of bank recs.
11. Collaborate effectively with other Tribal enterprises and departments, as needed.
12. Assist in installing, modifying, documenting, auditing and coordinating implementation of accounting control procedures for Talking Cedar.
13. Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
14. Cross-trains for back up in various duties within the accounting department and assists with the daily functions of the department.
15. Works collaboratively with Brewery & Distillery Operations Staff.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
17. May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Plan and Program.

Minimum Qualifications:
A. Education: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in accounting preferred.
B. Experience: 3-5 years directly related accounting experience in business environment preferred. 1+ years’ experience in Restaurant Accounting Required.
C. Skills & Abilities:
1) Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
2) Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in many units of measure, using whole numbers, common tractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
3) Computer Skills: Ability to function in the PC environment using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs efficiently with minimal errors. Proficient with accounting and financial report writing software, such as Sage 100 ERP (MAS 90).
4) Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, estalish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
5) Interpersonal Skills: Enjoys working with people. Skills in discussion facilitation and problem solving.
