Charles F Chapman School of Seamanship Hiring for Boat Captain Instructor Full Time

We are Looking for a full-time instructor. Applicants should be able to teach Navigation, Boating Safety, Marlinspike Seamanship, Basic Systems, Docking, and Maneuvering, all while having fun. Additional duties include light administration, updating course curriculum, and maintaining boats to USCG standards. MUST HAVE A CURRENT USCG CREDENTIAL Min 50GRT with 5 years experience. Drug testing for pre-employment and random testing during employment.

If you are miserable and not a people person, this job isn’t for you. Salary based on experience and USCG credentials. In addition to holding a Master credential, STCW, MSA and AB is a plus.

The role works very close with the Director of Academics and is the the only full-time instructor on staff. When classes are not in session, time is spent preparing for upcoming courses. Hours are from 0730-1630, Monday – Friday. An occasional weekend.
