About the Position
As a Finance Support Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance team, providing operational advice on day-to-day financial activities (across accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, assets and procurement), with a strong focus on ensuring data integrity in relation to income and expense recording. In this position, you will need to have a strong understanding of the chart of accounts and university financial systems, and possess the ability to provide direction and guidance to administrative staff across all functions of the Finance team.

About You
To be successful you will have:

• A degree qualification in Finance/Accounting and subsequent relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training)
• Progress towards a CPA / CA / IPA qualification (for appointment at Level 7 only)
• A talent for identifying weaknesses in existing financial processes and recommending appropriate improvements
• Sound knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with contemporary financial management practices and the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislation
• Analytical and problem-solving skills and a high degree of attention to detail
• Self-motivation, initiative, creativity and innovation in work practices
• High level communication skills and experience in producing various financial reports
• Highly developed computer skills, including proficiency using the MS Office suite, advanced Excel skills. Experience using Oracle highly regarded
