The Australian Nurse-Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) is a home visiting program that supports women pregnant with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child to help them become the best mum possible. ANFPP mums are offered support and guidance during early pregnancy and on into their baby’s infancy and toddlerhood. The ANFPP is an important early investment into the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in local communities.

About the position
As a Family Partnership Worker (FPW) Educator, you will work as a member of the ANFPP NSS Team to support FPWs to develop their roles and specific competency in program delivery. You will also ensure that the ANFP program materials reflect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, doing and belonging and that all ANFPP staff understand and respect the unique context of Indigenous society in Australia.

Under S25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. A confirmation of identity that verifies Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background must be provided by the successful appointee.

About you
To be successful you will possess:

• Education / training / qualifications equivalent to achievement of a degree in a relevant field
• Demonstrated experience in and understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector
• High level interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise on complex issues
• Recognition as a leader in the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and execute tasks in a timely manner
