Change Healthcare Hiring for Principal Software Engineer, AppSec at New Dayton, AB Full Time

The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec is accountable for the successful execution of Change Healthcare’s (CHNG) Enterprise Imaging product roadmap. Principal SW Engineer, Security is directly responsible for ensuring the products and services, that are built and released by the development team, meet cybersecurity requirements to protect patient information and reduce Change Healthcare’s financial, operational and brand risks.

The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec will act as a technical leader and advisor to multiple development teams in the Enterprise Imaging cloud product development organization, helping troubleshoot issues and raising awareness of application security amongst our teams.

The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec will work with stakeholders across CHNG to define standards, build knowledge within the development teams and drive a culture of cybersecurity awareness.

The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec will be a member of CHNG’s Enterprise Imaging Cloud Development leadership and is expected to contribute to matters in his domain of expertise and beyond it.

The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec will serve as an SME for cybersecurity matters and is expected to invest in self education and achieve relevant certifications.

Additionally, The Principal SW Engineer, AppSec will fill the most important role of all: serving as a leader and mentor to the rest of the product development organization, helping them continuously improve their technical skills and overall development

What are the requirements?

Years of experience: 10+ years of professional software development experience in building secure, complex, highly scalable, performant, asynchronous and reliable software systems in cloud-native environments and tools

Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including design patterns

Be the subject matter expert across three or more areas: Cloud Computing, Application Security, High Scalability, Big Data/ML, Medical Imagining

Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?

Experience with major Cloud Platform infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

Experience working with and across multiple boundaries including internal and external relationships

Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment

Strong analytics skills and ability to lead in a matrixed environment

Proven leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices

Effective implementation of cyber security risk mitigations and controls

Prioritization of known issues

Knowledge and framework to include cyber security in day-to-day work of product development does not exist and will need to be created

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and asynchronous architectures

Experience designing, creating and securing APIs; Web Services (REST/JSON), OAuth, JWT, WS-Security, SAML

Experience with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure (GLB, Pub/Sub, buckets, Google Kubenetes Engine, VM, …), NGINX

Experience with Node.js, Meteor.js, MongoDB Atlas, https/websockets, TLS,
