Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solutions Architect to work with our software development and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong software development background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products, with a specific focus on delivering solutions on cloud platforms. It would suit any Senior Solutions Architects or aspiring Engineering Directors to use their passion for using technology to solve real-world business problems.

Your future duties and responsibilities
– Provide technical leadership to teams in shaping products and services to meet a unique set of operational requirements for the business and end-users.
– Bridge the gap between business problem and technical development for delivery of high-quality effective products. Has ability to architect new solutions and deep-dive as and when necessary to unblock issues and steer direction for successful outcomes.
– Define and enforce software development processes, best practices, and development standards including code quality, test coverage, and modern SRE and CICD.
– Work closely with product management, design and business analysts.
– Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth coordination of software development efforts with other business functions.
-Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers.
– Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software engineering.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Mandatory competencies:
A solid background in software development Java, JavaScript or C#/C++ and providing technical leadership to development teams.
Experience architecting solutions on any cloud platform e.g. AWS,GCP,Azure.
Comfortable building and developing Infrastructure templates with Infrastructure as Code using either: Terraform, Cloudformation, Deployment Manager or ARM.
Linux administration.
Good understanding of networking.
Demonstrable troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
A passion for learning new technologies and innovation.

Desirable competencies:
Experience of security protocols such as PKI, TLS etc
Virtualisation experience, KVM/Vmware
Cisco Firewall and Telephony experience
Certifications on Amazon Web Services, including Solutions Architect, Developer, Google Cloud or Azure
Scaled Agile Development.

All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible & willing to obtain, UK SC clearance with the view to progressing to higher level clearance if required.
