This Opportunity:

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to expand our growing Quality team, reporting to our* Director of Quality*,

As an SDET, you will demonstrate a consistent curiosity coupled with a passion for quality in everything that we do. We value accuracy and pay attention to details, but we are not constrained by a “checklist mentality”, meaning we are continually pushing ourselves, our products, and our organizations to improve. We collaborate with every other part of the organization to find better ways to deliver value in those roles, products, processes, and within our own specialties. We experiment often, and base our recommendations on observable, measurable results that consider both causation and impact. We experiment, observe, analyze, inform, and recommend. We do that with a number of tools, processes, techniques, heuristics, frameworks and models that help us to be faster, more thorough, more efficient, and ultimately, more effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Be able to decompress requirements to both understand and uncover risks prior to implementation
• Work with engineering leaders across all engineering disciplines to continuously improve the quality of products and processes
• Be able to develop processes and strategies to measure the quality of the engineering deliverables in a way that can be used for decision making
• Drive and document test strategies, design test cases, and both write and conduct manual and automated testing for various features across all platforms and technology layers
• Ensure that technical decisions support our goals of quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and security, and have a massive impact on the quality of the product
• Contribute to and be accountable for goals set by the organization
• Be Self-Driven with proven experience in road-mapping Quality Engineering projects and influencing test automation vision through critical thought process and experience
• Be passionate about exploring, driving, and implementing scalable and robust test automation solutions and tools
• Bring delight to our customers by driving quality through troubleshooting and triaging issues
• Partner and mentor other team members to guide them to the right direction through test planning and code reviews, and lead by example

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
We are hoping you’ll bring…

• Proven experience in test planning, preparation and execution of test strategies
• Thorough understanding of, and experience with, testing methodologies, test case management and Issue/Bug tracking tools
• A desire and passion for working in a collaborative feedback-driven environment
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English

Whether you are a Unicorn or on your way towards being one, having a demonstrable subset of some of the following skills and proficiencies would be desired:

• Proven track record of change management, process improvement, and ensuring success of complicated projects
• Expertise with an object-oriented scripting language (python), code reviews, automated UI testing, CI/CD tools, performance and load testing, and working in the cloud (AWS)
• Exposure to Security, Accessibility, and Penetration testing
• Ability to review test automation code, provide constructive feedback, and set standards for great code
• Experience working with logging solutions and deriving quality through observability
