What will you do?
The role is new, and a result of significant business growth over the past 3 years, where we have stood strong through pandemics and all things impactful as a result! In this position you will join our Australian based, international finance team, where you will play an integral part in the team that delivers complex electrical projects with purpose across the Asia Pacific Region.
You will play a key role in providing high quality and value adding financial, management, and business information on CE Group’s Projects to ensure their successful delivery, directly supporting Project Managers and the company business unit Operations Managers, across multiple projects and various markets.
The role is responsible for the monthly accounting and reporting of individual projects and is required to ensure financial performance of projects is properly monitored and controlled through the financial integrity of the projects, delivery of reliable and meaningful cost reports and analyses on a timely basis, monitoring and substantiating Estimates to Complete.
In addition you will be required to:
- Ensure costs are accounted for in accordance with project accounting methodology and work breakdown structures
- Monitoring percentage completion on milestone based supplier contracts and identify any additional manual accruals as required
- Ensure project team members apply project and task codes consistently across the Projects, and costs are recorded under the relevant work breakdown structure
- Provide project accounting support to operations through the lifecycle of the project
- Interpret financial information to support project management and commercial decisions
- Champion project related meetings around the status of project financials, articulating risks and opportunities
- Ensure data integrity and accurate financial information is maintained in company ERP (COINS)
- Drive efficiency and process improvement through effective utilisation of the ERP system
To do this, you’ll be able to demonstrate:

- Working knowledge of activity based accounting and project accounting systems.
- Experience working on large construction projects will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of work breakdown structure and project management tools.
- Understanding of the activities and needs of project manager’s internal cost allocation processes and systems.
- Good organisational and planning skills along with strong attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business and CPA/CA qualifications
- Demonstrated accounting experience working for large value (multi-million$) projects
