An exciting opportunity has become available within CQUniversity’s Tertiary Education Division (TED) to employ a Deputy Vice-President – Education and Quality. This is a chance for you to take your career to the next level and shape the future of learning and teaching and institutional quality at CQUniversity.

Reporting to the Vice-President – Academic, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality leadership across the TED portfolio, and the development of learning, teaching, and institutional quality-related initiatives that align with the strategic priorities, plans, and policies of the University, inclusive of our status as a dual sector. You will work closely with senior executive staff to ensure outstanding learning outcomes for our students and the development of an environment that promotes the capacity building of our educators, and scholarship of learning and teaching outcomes and impact. You will also oversee our education compliance, academic integrity and centralised work-integrated learning strategies and operations.

The successful candidate will need to be an inspirational leader who brings the standing, strategic vision, experience, and operational skills required to innovate and lead in a fast-paced and constantly evolving academic environment. They will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to contribute to University-wide goals related to student engagement, progression and success.

Position Requirements

• Knowledge and understanding of University management, governance and quality assurance frameworks, including the legislative and accountability requirements of the Australian Higher Education Sector.
• Specific knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum and educational best practice in learning and teaching.
• PhD qualification together with a demonstrated track record of significant academic leadership experience.
• Proven ability in communication, negotiation and engagement as well as a sound understanding of the role and use of technology in supporting quality learning and teaching in higher education.
• Demonstrated record of success at a senior level in strategic planning and effective implementation of change to improve overall organisational performance.
• Demonstrated leadership and strategic management skills to engage and influence directly and indirectly to achieve success.
• Proven track record of success in a senior-level role in higher education, alongside academic credibility gained through a teaching and research record.
