headspace is seeking an experienced Vocational Specialist for the Work and Study Program to assist young people with the transition into employment, and provide ongoing mentoring and post placement support.

About You

• You have demonstrated experience in the vocational services sector.
• You have demonstrated experience working with a youth population with mental health issues.
• You have experience engaging stakeholders across the community and employment sector.
• Current Drivers Licence and willingness to travel and work in an outreach mode.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Vocational Specialist in collaboration with the Senior Vocational Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and ongoing operation of the Individual Placement Support (IPS) Trial. The IPS Trial aims to improve the educational and employment outcomes of young people with mental illness who are at risk of disengaging and of long-term welfare dependency.

The Vocation Specialist will work as part of the headspace Gosford and Lake Haven team and with external stakeholders to assist young people to transition into employment, and provide ongoing mentoring and post placement support.

The role will be responsible for collection of data and record keeping and ing to support the project evaluation.

This role will rotate across the headspace Gosford and Lake Haven sites.
