On a daily basis, provides coordination and support in all aspects of the Accounting Department, by performing the following duties.

• Administrative support duties:
  • Opens and sorts incoming and processes outgoing U.S. Postal mail.
  • Assists transportation with the banking run and distributes interagency mail.
  • Copies and scans as needed
  • Types meeting minutes for Accounting Department; other meeting minutes, as requested.
  • Maintains department petty cash.
• Accounting duties:
  • Maintains individuals’ funds from receivables and payables.
  • Prepares and balances.
  • Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Prepares debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, including data entry, using specialized accounting software.
  • Calculates, prepares, and issues invoices and checks according to established procedures.
  • Assists in monthly closing of books.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree (AA or AAS) in related field or any combination of education and/or experience to equal two years. Experience in Accounting preferred. College student during their second year towards their Associates degree (AA or AAS) in related field may qualify for an internship.

SHIFTS: (FT 40hrs.) Mon-Fri:8am-5pm

PAY RANGE: $18.60-$21.67/hr.
