Position: Senior Accountant

Company: CemeCon, Inc. is the Center of Excellence for the coating service industry and a supplier of premium coatings and coating equipment used in the cutting tool industry. Established in Big Flats, NY 20 years ago, CemeCon, Inc. is a small group of nearly 50 team members. We are the North American subsidiary of our parent company, CemeCon AG, located in Wurselen, Germany. CemeCon is a global company with other subsidiaries located throughout Europe and Asia. We currently have an opening for a Senior Accountant in our Finance Team to maintain the accounting processes of the organization in cooperation with the Controller and ensure accurate financial reporting to management and the parent company.

With a focused purpose to maintain integrity and high level of product quality the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

• General accounting tasks associated with the operation of CemeCon, Inc. including, general ledger maintenance and control
• Financial statements preparation, MTD/ YTD
• Payroll processing
• Fixed asset tracking
• Work in conjunction with Accounting Assistant to complete tasks associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Collaborate with Purchasing Supervisor regarding inventory control
• Responsible for submitting monthly financial statements to parent company, CemeCon AG, according to the established schedule
• Assist Controller in maintaining and controlling the accounting function as it relates to the other functions within the business operations
• Support Controller in budget preparation, and special projects as assigned
• Work with external auditors in preparation of year end reporting

Management System: The operational activities and controls for the business unit are directed by the integrated Management System. The Senior Accountant will control and monitor the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory modules within the guidelines of the management system that have been established. The Senior Accountant will recommend and participate in the modification of the system documentation, as required to effectively validate our operations and procedures.

Quality Management System: The Senior Accountant will conduct the responsibilities and tasks of this position in a manner that supports and sustains the standards as set forth by the established Quality Management System.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with at least 5 – 10 years work experience in a general accounting environment – manufacturing environment a plus
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
• Organizational skills with an attention to detail
• Highly motivated team player
• Must possess a high level of professionalism essential to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in a financial environment
• Salary commensurate with experience
• Availability to work on site, this is not a remote position
