About the role*

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be providing generalist HR support mainly for the Chorley and Durham sites working closely with Managers and Team Leads. You will also work in close partnership with other members of the HR team to ensure the smooth running of a broad range of HR processes and the appropriate application of HR procedures.

As an overview you will:

• Provide guidance and support on a broad range of employee relations issues e.g. disciplinary, capability, grievance, sickness, in line with policies and SOP’s.
• Joint responsibility for collating and submitting payroll changes to our payroll provider and updating internal HRIS.
• Providing training/coaching to line managers on a range of HR matters including absence management, performance management and disciplinary.
• Liaising with the Recruitment Specialist for vacancies within the portfolio and supporting interviews where required.
• Supports with HR administration as required e.g. offer letters, change letters.
• Supports starters and leavers process with carrying out HR inductions in Chorley and exit interviews.
• Assist in HR database management / maintenance.

This role is being offered on a full-time basis based at our Chorley site with occasional travel to other sites as required. There is an opportunity for hybrid working (requirement to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week).

About you*

Previous experience working in a Human Resources environment is essential as well as good knowledge of current employment legislation and Human Resources best practice. A qualification in Human Resources Management (CIPD Level 5) would an advantage.

This is a busy and varied role that would suit an individual who is highly organised with a strong ability to manage tasks of varying priorities to strict deadlines.

In order to work as an effective member of the team, you will be highly competent in the use of IT including MS Office, HR database systems and general internet navigation. You will have a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms. You will also have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to diplomatically interact with colleagues at all levels, highly ethical, discreet in all of your dealings and crucially you must have a team working ethos.
