Celebright Hiring for Web Application Developer at Kanata, ON Full Time

This role has some flexibility and will be tailored to suit the successful candidate. Celebright is looking for a developer to help grow the capabilities of our products. We are looking for someone who has the breadth and can help out in multiple areas, with a focus on web application development. There are development opportunities in all areas, including at the embedded level (c/c++ on microcontrollers) on IoT devices, the Cloud (IoT, pub/sub, AWS), web applications (php, mySql, javascript, html, css), and mobile applications (Android / iOS).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, build and maintain web applications for both internal tools and customer-facing applications.

Help out in other areas your skills can be applied (to be determined by the successful applicant’s skillset)

Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent problem-solving skills

Courteous and just generally nice to be around

Good understanding of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

Knowledge of software engineering best practices

Familiarity with source control management

Proficiency in web application development, specifically with applications based on a LAMP stack using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Understanding of database design and its use in web applications

A good feel for user interface design

Education and Experience:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

4+ years of software engineering/programming work experience

2+ years of work experience programming for web applications in a PHP environment

Bonus Skills:
Experience with: C/C++ in embedded systems

Experience with AWS IoT / Cognito / Lambda

Having worked at multiple levels of the stack, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

Familiarity with networking protocols and pub/sub

Compensation:
Salary to be negotiated based on successful applicant’s skill set and experience
