The CWS Business Partner Generalist supports the Senior Business Partner with implementing corporate policies and facilitating organisation and leadership development efforts by partnering with the workforce to address root causes of human resources issues.
This role assists management in developing and implementing solutions through culture, processes and best practices while ensuring compliance of all internal policies and legislation. The Business Partner supports the business unit through all coworker services activities including: informal coworker relations issues, organizational capability, compensation, benefits and special projects. Additionally, the CWS BP acts as an advisor to management and serves as a resource centre for coworkers.
Travel within the UK is required.
What you’ll do:
Prevention of employment tribunal claims and losses for CDW UK through proactive coaching and development as well as review of business practices / best practice
Maintain and develop strong partnering relationships with stakeholders
Assisting in driving company-wide initiatives i.e. performance management, benefit strategies, merit reviews and organizational change
Partner with SME’s within CWS team to meet the needs of CDW and the business unit and be the representative of CWS to the assigned business unit
Act as a CWS Business Partner for assigned business unit providing a consistent proactive service for advice and guidance on all areas of coworker services including but not limited to:
Building and reviewing job descriptions
Working with the Compensation team to complete analysis, build compensation strategy and manage business unit changes to any compensation
Advising on career development and pathing, utilising the L&D SMEs when required and also ensuring talent is recognised and developed within each area
Work with the talent acquisition team to build a contingency workforce strategy for area, looking to future readiness
Partnership with the business in formulating and influencing business and talent strategy
Works with the business unit for any transfers, talent mobility progression
Building and maintain a partnering relationship with all leaders and managers within the assigned business unit focussing on people, process and technology enabling CDW to reach company and business unit wide targets
Drive talent philosophy throughout business unit to ensure that CDW is building better leaders, a bench for critical roles within business unit and focusing on future requirements
Advise and support management on organisation and structure design ensuring future readiness to meet business strategy and market growth
Drive engagement and productivity within business unit considering alignment, engagement, rewards and market data
Guide leaders regarding coworker information actions, PIPs and terminations to ensure consistency in approach
Provide commercially focused operational CWS support to the business Mediate and facilitate disputes within business unit working to reduce the number of formal
cases and working in conjunction with the ER Manager to highlight trends and agree solutions
Propose policy and procedure changes / improvements to instil best business and leadership practices
Support the Senior BP of CWS and management team in the retention and motivation of staff
Achievement of CWS KPIs and project delivery
Support the implementation of any strategic CWS initiatives to maximise benefits to business goals
Monitor, review and revise all company procedures
Monitor and, where necessary, train managers on policy/procedure usage and implementation
Audit managers’ compliance with company procedures
To proactively manage informal coworker (ER) relations issues
To provide up to date legal advice to management
Work proactively to minimise any legal risk to CDW
To be responsible for management of TUPE programs, liaising with transferring organisations and management teams to ensure transfers are conducted within the legislative framework
Work in partnership with the ER Manager (job title tbc) to ensure business awareness and consistency
Manage or supervisor, depending on role, CWS Advisor ensuring a high level of service

CIPD qualified
Employment Law knowledge and ability to translate this into commercially astute CWS Advice.
UK Case law knowledge
Discipline, Grievance, Absence and TUPE experience
Change Management experience
Experience of managing CWS Projects
Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
HRIS Experience (HR Pro desirable)
Proactive, self-motivated and independent worker
