Staff Accountant

Purpose of position:

Full-service CPA firm with multiple office locations is looking for an experienced accountant.

Duties include full accounting and tax responsibilities for client accounts in a variety of industries. This includes providing support to bookkeeping professionals and staff accountants in the preparation of monthly write-ups. Meticulous attention to detail is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full range of accounting services for firm clients. This could include monthly reconciliations, preparing / booking journal entries, preparing financial statements.
• Prepare payroll tax, sales and other local tax, and corporate / personal income tax returns.
• Answer client questions and requests for support from internal customers.
• Educate clients on usage of QuickBooks, business processes and accounting controls.
• Perform special projects as assigned by firm owner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. CPA is preferred.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in public accounting preferred with experience in tax preparation required.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate and interface well with clients and internal customers and also represent the firm in a highly professional manner.
• Possess a high degree of proficiency with QuickBooks and MS Office products including

Excel and Outlook. Prior experience with Accounting Creative Solutions, Ultra Tax and

SharePoint is desirable but not required.

• Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional organizational skills required. Ability to meet designated deadlines is also a critical qualification.

Reporting:

• This position reports to the firm shareholder
• Non-management position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
