Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the CATO team on a full time permanent basis and be responsible for assisting with Accounts and General Administration duties. The role reports into the Accounts and Payroll Manager and works closely with other parts of the business.

The pace and changing nature of the CATO business will require a high level of flexibility and for the role to be highly adaptive to the needs of the business. The role is based at our Marrickville office.

Role Responsibilities

• Active participation as part of the office team to improve overall business operations particularly in finance and payroll systems, processes and activities;
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable coordination and processing;
• Assist in approval of timesheet data in Deputy for payment on Wednesdays;
• Process weekly pay run accurately;
• Keep updated records of office expenses and costs;
• Support the Accounts & Payroll Manager to prepare and implement process and timeline for follow-up of outstanding debtors;
• Support the Accounts & Payroll Manager to liaise with creditors, debtors and potential clients as required;
• Support the Accounts & Payroll Manager in preparation and reconciliation of creditors for EOM;
• Ensure that all work undertaken complies with company policies, including conflict of interest, confidentiality and privacy, quality assurance, environmental management and Health and Safety.

You will bring:

Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
• High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus

Experience:

• Proven experience working in accounts, finance and payroll
• Experience with Xero accounting software a must
• Experience with Deputy, and/or Employment Hero Payroll (HeroPay) an advantage

Skills:

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel & Office skills
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Engaging personality with a willingness and interest in building effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Open-minded, flexible and willing to take on responsibilities outside a narrow accounts/ financial/ payroll role
