CatholicCare NT is a not-for-profit organisation, providing social services and programs to individuals, couples, families, children, groups, schools, and agencies across the Northern Territory.
The Finance and Corporate Services Department provides high level operational support, research, and advice to the Executive Team on matters such as financial planning, infrastructure management and information services. The goals are to provide business support to achieve efficient operation and to implement effective internal control and to ensure compliance with taxation legislation and renumeration.
About the role
As the Assistant Accountant you will provide support to the entire finance department and ultimately the organisation by undertaking duties such as; preparing finance reports, performing reconciliations, managing fixed asses registers, managing accounts payable and receivable and CatholicCare NT corporate credit cards.

What we are looking for

• Relevant degree in accounting or similar qualification with substantial experience in a accounting and finance.
• Experience in handling accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Proficient in SAP and HR3 desired.
• Experience in monthly reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to engage with people with complex challenges.
• High level of written and computer skills including Excel Documents, email, and electronic database.
• Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
• Willingness and capacity to work according to the values and mission of CatholicCare NT, including the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the development of the program.
