PROGRAM & POSITION SUMMARY:

The Center for Immigration Legal & Support Services (CILSS) advances racial, gender, and economic equity :through high-quality, multi-year legal representation and focused case management. With CILSS’ culturally sensitive support, first and future generations are able to break through systemic barriers, achieve their aspirations, and become full participants in the social, civic, and economic fabric of our community.

The Administrative Assistant will perform many organizational tasks to ensure they support the Program team by obtaining the most accurate and up-to-date documentation they need when they need it. This will include opening and processing mail, filing documents in physical files, photocopying, responding to client calls, securing documentation from clients, and other tasks as required. Bilingual English/Spanish required:.

This position will be based out of our San Mateo office located at 36 37th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Front Desk duties as well as telephone inquiries.
• Returns client calls and schedule appointments as appropriate.
• Processes mail, including data input into LawLogix (LLX);
• Provides accurate information/referrals to clients with other needs that could be met by our Agency or by other community organizations.
• Prepares photocopies of immigration court submissions and case files.
• Assist walk-in clients and potential clients.
• Maintains inventory system and ordering office supplies, and program supplies.
• Liaiasons with CILSS Director of Operations re: building maintenance issues.
• Assists with collection and deposit of fees for services.
• Generates s as assigned.

Education & Experience:::

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience directly related to the job qualifications will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:::

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. :
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prioritize task, strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently.
• Skills in typing, word processing and office management.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Council on Accreditation (COA) roles:

• Serves on monthly committee for Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) committee.
• Serves on Performance and Quality Improvement PQI Committee responsible for monitoring goals and ing.
