JOB PURPOSE:

Electric Power Digital is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter who wants to help us drive value for our customers and dealers. This role works closely with field and dealer teams to support our connected assets with some of the world’s most visible customers.

This is a key position that directly supports our dealers and customers installing and troubleshooting their Electric Power connected assets. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for working across functional teams developing new product link hardware, software, and features.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following: perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products, processes, or systems; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units; contribute to the design of new products and processes; perform product and process maintenance; collaborate with and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers, maintain technical currency, and represent the company externally.

35% Global travel will be required to support dealer events, resolve customer issues, conduct training, and to field test new telematics hardware. Working with dealer personnel on a job site, while following all safety protocol is required.

JOB DUTIES:

• This position will be the subject matter expert for Product Link Elite (PLE) & PL444 devices.

• This is a key role on the digital product support team and serves as a team leader and mentor other team members.

• Serves as Tier 3 escalation for Cat Digital Support related to telematics, Cat Remote Asset Monitoring & CPI projects.

• Leads field follow projects for firmware and hardware updates related to the PLE devices including dealer acceptance.

• Supports dealers when on-site with key customers like those in cutting edge technology applications.

• Leads technical training for dealers, customers and internal partners related to this technology.

• Serves as the EP digital lead for NPI programs internal to Electric Power

• Provides training to Cat Digital Support to improve services for customers and dealers.

• Troubleshoots installation issues and resolves dealer product support challenges both on-site and remotely.

• Liaison between Engineering, ITDD & Cat Digital

• Supports product engineering, control systems engineering and other groups with hardware and software challenges.

• Conducts dealer webinars: Topics could include, training, NPI, CPI and new features.

• Tracks, manages, and communicates issues with the CPI team.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree or progressive related job experience

• Excellent communication skills

• Knowledge of Cat RAM and telematics hardware used by Electric Power – PLE, PL542, PL444 etc.

• Understanding of additional Cat systems such as DSP, Equipment Data Records, Remote Services, Cat Gateway, etc.

TOP CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE:

• Prior Technical Experience

• Prior Field or dealer/customer experience

• Experience with dealers and customers and willing to travel globally to train/troubleshoot issues on-site as necessary.
