Castlewood Apparel Corp Hiring for ASSISTANT DESIGNER – Entry Level at New York, New York Full Time

Seasoned professional organized design team looks to add a bright enthusiastic member to their team willing to learn and work with the best in the industry.  Bernette Textiles of the Castlewood Apparel Group seeks an entry-level Assistant Designer to join our expanding Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Team. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Help create sketches for men’s and women. 
• Updating Tech Packs in Excel
• Assist with creating CADs in Illustrator.
• Maintaining approval charts and internal tracking reports
• Following development and production calendars closely to meet deadlines.
• Communicating directly with our overseas factories on approval comments and design details.
• Daily communication with tech, production, & sales teams
• Market research for men’s, women’s print, and graphic development
• Create mood boards, color stories, and inspiration images to assist with the design direction.
• Office organization and filing

 Skills:

• Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or Menswear Design is required, or equivalent experience.
• Illustrator, Photoshop, & Excel
• CAD development – Able to create CADs in Illustrator/Photoshop
• Knowledge of knitwear and woven fabric constructions & apparel design
• Able to read and maintain a WIP report
• Highly organized / Great communication skills / Detail-Oriented
• Must be a team player with a positive outlook and eagerness to learn.

Salary range: $41,600 – 50,000, non-exempt – overtime eligible

Work environment: Currently working a hybrid arrangement with 4 days on-site with 1 day remote.  2 floating remote days granted per month
