Role Overview
We’re looking for a career driven Head of Commercial Finance.
The role will partner with the Group Financial Controller, CFO and Executive Leadership Team to provide commercial, management reporting and analytical support. You will lead the transformation of the Group Financial Planning and Analysis team to build a centre of excellence in best practice analytics and digitisation of finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Consider that you are the reporting advisor to the executive leadership team.
- Manage a team that provides financial & commercial advice, planning & reporting and analytical insights to the Leadership Team in relation to financial and commercial performance.
- Lead the development and delivery of the annual budgeting process working collaboratively with the Commercial Finance team and business stakeholders.
- Establish flexible, accurate and robust financial forecasting models that support agile scenario analysis.
- Lead the implementation of a Centre of Excellence that will deliver analytics.
- Deliver insightful reporting to Exec team and Board ensuring business performance trends, opportunities and risks are communicated.
- Perform Business/ economic/ financial modelling tasks.
- Forecasting, statutory and regulatory reporting support and other data-driven analysis activities.
- Monitoring the performance vs budget at an absolute level with respect to unpacking revenue and identifying material contributors to performance (+/-) as well as performance vs assumptions on key levers / operational metrics.
- Providing high quality KPI, financial and operational reporting and analysis
- Regularly partnering with business functions to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company.
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller in preparing relevant materials for the Board but also in explaining the results.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Skills and Attributes
- Bachelors’ Degree in a relevant subject (accounting, finance, business or commerce).
- Membership of CFA/CPA/CA or MBA or equivalent.
- People leadership including driving strong staff engagement and performance
- Contemporary reporting, forecasting and analytical tools
- Relationship building capability, at all levels in an organisation.
- You are a commercial and big picture thinker, who is proactive in monitoring trends and identifying opportunities, developing and executing plans to maximise financial performance and ensure ongoing improvement of processes and enhancing operational efficiency.
- You’re capable and ambitious, with the goal of becoming a CFO and the self-awareness of your key development areas to address to achieve it.
