Cascades Hiring for Millwright / Mechanic at Scarborough, ON Full Time

Cascades is looking for licensed candidates with 1-2 years of Millwright experience in the Manufacturing Industry who are flexible with the rottaional shift between afternoons and nights.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe execution of the following functions:

• Lead with a core belief of Safety as a Value. Establish and maintain a healthy working relationship and strong safety culture with supervisors and department employees to ensure compliance for all applicable health and safety regulations;
• Assist Production Manager in preparing and implementing action plans and continuous improvement strategies relevant to Operations;
• Planning, organizing, and supervise daily scheduled production.
• Accountable for the health and safety of all workers under their supervision.
• Investigate occurrences, timely accident and or investigative reports, first aid reports and all follow up in such matters to closure.
• Ability to identify problems on the floor, make quick decisions to resolve them to support the plant goals.
• Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.

Qualifications

433A Mandatory; Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory;

• Must demonstrate a competence in all supervisory skills and requirements;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must to be successful in a team environment;
• Strong motivational and leadership skills,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
