Cascade Lodge Hiring for Innkeeper Couple at Lutsen, Minnesota Full Time

Looking for a couple to share housekeeping, front desk, caretaking, and light maintenance duties.  Affordable housing at $12 per day per person includes one free meal per day.  End of season/year bonuses, paid time off (one week per year) accrual after 90 days.

Summary:

Oversees and coordinates daily operations of Cascade Lodge to ensure highest standards for cleanliness, product quality, and guest service. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic and knowledgeable of lodging operations. Must be hands on in all aspects of the day to day operation with the focus on excellent customer service and exceptional guest experience. Must have flexible schedule and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Duties:

• Ensures that all areas of the property are properly cleaned and ready for guests’ arrival. 
• Anticipates and assesses guests’ needs and responds in a courteous and professional manner. Serves as night MOD/caretaker, answers phone calls, and assists guests with minor issues after business hours.  
• Plans for, makes orders, and keeps accurate inventory of housekeeping supplies.
• Monitors and maintains a proper inventory of all supplies; cleaning, linen, guest toiletries, etc. 
• Ensures housekeeping supplies are well maintained. 
• Manages and assists in all housekeeping duties, housekeeping duties are part of this job.
• Responds to emails, answers phone calls, monitors, and manages reservations, front desk shifts are part of this job.. 
• Works with the front desk team on matters pertaining to guest reservations. 
• Resolves minor maintenance issues, assists with snow removal during winter months, keeps accurate maintenance logs, promptly reports major maintenance issues to owners. 
• Inspects rooms and all common areas on a daily basis and promptly addresses any and all issues that may be present. 
• Develops, implements, and maintains deep cleaning schedules. 
• Manages expenses within approved budget constraints. 
• Prepares accurate and timely reports as required. 
• Trains, supervises, motivates, and develops housekeeping staff when necessary and manages workflow. 
• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of the team; actively works to promote and recognize performance. • Keeps up to date on overall activities, identifying problem areas, and taking corrective actions. 
• The Innkeepers may also have marketing responsibilities online, via phone, and in person. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must have a valid driver’s license. 
• 2+ years related experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating employees

• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
