Carte International Hiring for Quality Assurance Lab Technician at Winnipeg, MB Full Time

Carte is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join and support the Quality Assurance team on a full-time basis. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for obtaining and preparing fluid samples, running specific tests, preparing and packaging samples to send to outside laboratories for testing, and creating nameplates and stencils for internal customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Grade 12 High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Post-secondary education in a technical field is an asset.

· Experience with quality process and practices in lean manufacturing and ISO 9000.

· Outstanding organizational skills; attention to detail, and error prevention.

· Familiarity with ASTM, IEC and IEEE transformer standards an asset.

· Experience in a manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Obtain and prepare fluid samples for testing dielectric breakdown voltage, and moisture content.

· Conduct dielectric breakdown voltage testing.

· Collect samples for, and conduct Moisture-In-Oil testing

· Send samples to external laboratories for testing and record these samples into the Fluid Log.

· Assist with running daily verification samples, handling rush samples, and maintaining lab equipment

· Performs various administrative tasks in support of the Lab.

· Obtain fluid samples from fluid processing equipment, tankers.

· Review, accept, input, and store vendor COA (Certificate of Analysis) for incoming fluids.

· Visual inspection and dielectric testing of samples from incoming fluids including updating of records.

· Create and issue Fix forms as a control, or on failed samples.

· Receive, log, and communicate external test results.

· Submit completed test results in a timely manner.

· Record test results values

· Calibration of equipment as assigned.

Nameplate and Stencil Creation

· Obtain and input all necessary information from engineering drawings or work orders into computer for nameplate

· Obtain / order nameplate material from Stores

· Operate the laser nameplate etching machine

· Inform and/or deliver completed nameplates to internal customers

SKILLS

· Dynamic, initiative, enthusiasm, positive attitude, adaptable, and open-minded.

· Strong MS Word, MS Excel skills.

· Strong and accurate data entry and analysis

· Strong English written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
