We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented Software Engineer or Computer Scientist to join a global software development team. Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Carrier eDesign software-based tools for the design and optimization of heating ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and Carrier Electronic Catalog software used to drive Carrier equipment sales. This position is based in Syracuse, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop desktop software applications and web-based applications.

• Analyze software requirements and design software solutions.

• Produce clean, efficient code that meets software requirement.

• Performing unit and system testing.

• Work collaboratively with other developers on development projects

• Monitor the performance of 1 to 2 software developers contributing the development effort. This includes code reviews and coaching.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and debug existing software.

• Contribute to establishing department guidelines and standards for development of software.

• Evaluate and identify new libraries, tools, and technologies for use by the software development team, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering field of study

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient with front-end web technologies including JavaScript, ReactJS, or AngularJS

• Proficient with server-side and back-end technologies including C#, .NET, and Java

• Understanding of cloud-based design and architecture. Knowledge of AWS

• Understanding of object-oriented design and analysis (OOD and OOA)

• Technology experience including Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, XML, JSON, WPF, XAML.

• Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum)

• Familiarity with GitHub and Jenkins

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation communication skills
