WHAT WE SEEK
Manager of Virtual Tutoring oversees the day-to-day tutoring services for their designated region/territory. They will work closely with the Senior Director of Tutoring overseeing tutoring to ensure the effective and consistent setup and management of tutoring services provided.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
Managing part-time lead tutors and tutors providing tutoring services, including supporting the hiring, training and onboarding, and ongoing professional learning of team members
Meet regularly with lead tutors and tutors, checking in on the progress of tutoring, address any questions, concerns, etc.
Deliver a minimum of 4-8 hours per week of tutoring sessions
Create and share reports related to the tutoring program with customers
Create and/or manage the creation of instructional materials (e.g. lesson plans, summer curriculum framework, assessments, etc.)
Manage the schedule for lead tutors and tutors, including, arranging for substitutes as needed, confirming attendance with the Senior Director
Support lead tutors and tutors as needed with troubleshooting technical issues; directing the appropriate company staff for support
Support in the design and set up of the dedicated tutoring platform
Partners with the Senior Director of Tutoring to collaborate and communicate about the status of implementation, identify potential risks to program success, and develop plans for resolution.
Use collaborative relationships within and across departments to influence program developments, contribute to marketing and overall program success.
Performs other duties assigned or apparent.
WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK
Masters degree (preferred), Bachelors degree (required) in education, specific to the content vertical with which they will support (preferred)
5+ years of classroom teaching experience in the content vertical with which they will support
Experience mentoring, coaching or managing others
Experience with tutoring (preferred)
Experience teaching with Carnegie Learning resources (preferred)
Understanding of school and district infrastructure including technology environments and management
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations
Solution-minded and detail-oriented; always looking for ways to improve efficiency, communication, and the customer experience
Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
