We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and qualified Senior Instructional Designer to create the next generation of Spanish products that will revolutionize the way Spanish is taught in schools and districts across the country.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
Works in collaboration with the Director of Instructional Design (WL) and Senior Instructional Designer (WL) to implement the instructional vision and execute the instructional design and content strategy of the Next Generation Spanish product, ensuring alignment to the Carnegie learning mission and vision, as well as ACTFLs philosophies and the World-Readiness Standards for Language Learning.
Executes multiple, concurrent instructional design activities while proactively ensuring optimal process.
Applies advanced knowledge of pedagogy, second language acquisition, ACTFL-involved philosophies and standards, backwards design, Design Thinking, and assessment to the design of accurate and innovative content.
Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with others on the Instructional Design Team, ensuring rigor and integrity of the content and on-time delivery of the finished product.
Proactively and reliably identifies and resolves risks that would hinder on-time, accurate project delivery.
Demonstrates understanding of how content functions within platform and technologies.
Creates and authors content using available technology in the platform.
Suggests and develops creative solutions to meet general content needs and specific adoption needs.
Follows set standards for DE&I to ensure content free of cultural and political biases, stereotypes, and insensitivity toward any group.
Analyzes and applies best practices in instructional design and learning technologies.
Demonstrates knowledge of Carnegie Learning product content.
WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK
Native command of written and spoken Spanish
BA, BS in Spanish or other related fields
Masters Degree preferred: Second Language Acquisition, Spanish/French/German or Linguistics, or other related fields
2-5 years of experience in education and instructional and/or curriculum design
3+ years of teaching experience in the 6-12 market
Knowledge of the 6-12 educational publishing market
Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external audiences, including students, teachers, districts and vendors.
Relentless pursuit of instructional and assessment content integrity and creativity.
Desire and ability to foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, collaboration, and flexibility.
