Carmichael UK Looking for Senior Planner at Minffordd Full Time

Our client a leading civil engineering contractor requires a Senior Planner to join its team on a permanent basis to deliver a project that is worth £200m. The 3-4km tunnel project in the Snowdonia National Park which aims to reduce the visual impact of our client’s overhead line across the Dwyryd Estuary near Porthmadog to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and environmental heritage of the Snowdonia landscape.  Most of the works are due to be completed by 2026 but the project isn’t due to complete for a further couple of years. 

The role will be required for the duration of the project and site based, initially at Trawsfyndd Substation, LL41 4DT.  From April 2023 it will be based at Minffordd, LL48 6HW.  The role is site-based and we are currently providing hotel accommodation for those unable to commute daily until they move to the main site where an accommodation / camp is to be set up.

It is likely to be a standalone Planner role so needs someone with good Tier 1 contractor-side project delivery experience although there will be support from our Swindon based Head of Planning. 

A tunnelling project experience is not essential, but civils project experience is highly desirable.  P6 software experience is essential.

Anticipated salary is probably £70-80k but very dependent upon skills/experience.  A car/car allowance (£5k) will be provided.
