Carmichael UK Looking for Senior Planner at Bristol Full Time

Carmichael UK are looking for a Senior Planner on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor for a Major Highway project (£2bn).

• Start date: 12/12/2022
• Contract: 8 months (potential to extend)
• Location: Bristol
• Rate: Negotiable
• Payment type: Outside IR35

Key Roles and Responsibilities will include:

• Development & maintenance of the schedule for site investigation surveys and advanced construction works, including utility diversions, ecology and archaeological mitigation.
• Monitoring and reporting on progress of the works
• Co-ordination of contractor & stakeholder schedules
• Communication of schedule information to team and stakeholders
• Consideration and communication of the impact of change
• Working with the management team to develop and ensure opportunities within the construction schedule.
• Working with other planners, managers, and contractors to develop an integrated schedule.
• Analyzing submitted programmes and advising the client on level of acceptance.
• Working with contractors to ensure programme acceptance.

The successful candidate will have the following experience/ quialifications:

• Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects Experience of planning a complex schedule, utilizing P6 Knowledge and experience of Statutory Undertakers Diversion works Good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with bridging
• A champion for collaborative behaviors

Additional experience in some or all of the following:

• Work in environmentally and heritage sensitive sites.
• Working within logistically constrained areas
• Knowledge and understanding of a good range of highways disciplines including – earthworks, drainage, pavement.
• Willing to attend the team’s project office in Bristol on average 2 times per week initially while the team forms.
• Ability to organize and facilitate collaborative planning workshops.
