Carmichael UK Looking for Principal Highways Engineer at London Full Time

CarmichaelUK are working with 2 of our clients who are in a joint venture to deliver highways and streetworks upgrades in London. on behalf of TfL. Our client are currently working on 2x schemes which the incoming engineer will be working on: a safety improvement scheme on the TLRN network and cycle route designs for future cycle routes. We are looking for someone who can start ASAP with the role running for a minimum of 6 months.

You will be responsible for:

– Balancing demands and priorities of 2 schemes

– Reviewing highways infrastructure design from proposition through to construction

– Planning of project resources and finances 

– Preparation and review of technical reports, drawings, specifications and schedules

– Providing construction support to site teams

– Supervising and overseeing work of engineers and graduates

We are looking for someone who has:

– HNC or higher in civil engineering or related subject

– Valid CSCS card

– Understanding of highways and traffic engineering techniques and principles

– Strong use of CAD/Civil 3D

– Working knowledge of NEC form of contract, DMRB, MCHW, Traffic Signs Manual and TfL Streets Toolkit
