CarLotz Hiring for Senior Accountant Job at Richmond, VA Full Time

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general accounting, including closing activities, and support the general 10-K and 10-Q filings and audits. This role will also support major projects as they relate to accounting.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for external reporting, internal management reporting, and audits
• Analyze and prepare adjustments for transactional line-item detail posted into the ERP system
• Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve them
• Assist the FP&A and Investor Relations teams as needed

• Work with other departments to educate team members on process changes and required documentation as it relates to the accounting team, as well as reinforce existing procedures for compliance and accuracy
• Assist on project team on accounting and internal controls related items for system upgrades, major business events, and other enhancement projects
• Identify and execute process improvement
• Document processes and procedures as controls are established

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in general accounting, 3+ years experience if Big 4
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred but not required
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP

• Excellent computer skills, with an emphasis in Excel
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and in a team setting
• Willingness to learn new tasks and ability to cope in a changing environment
• Ability to lift up to 10-pounds
• Background and drug screen required
