The Business Development Manager – Pets will focus on driving Cargill’s additives business across the pet food, treats, and supplement categories, including a focus on new customer acquisition and development of collaborative business relationships with key strategic partners and accounts. In this role, you will support the emerging postbiotic within the Pet category and sell complex, functional health solutions to help manufacturers differentiate and meet the increasing expectations of today’s health and wellness focused pet parent. You will support development of Cargill’s commercial Pet strategies, and craft medium to long range initiatives to protect, grow, and diversify our sales base in North America. Key Accountabilities
Lead new customer acquisition efforts and grow our pipeline of business opportunity.
Develop client retention and growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with assigned accounts.
Identify and handle interactions with assigned group of customers to establish sales opportunities.
Resolve problems and ensure customers receive high quality service.
Work closely with other important Cargill functional leaders to support commercial efforts, including Marketing, Portfolio and Technical Services.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
Up to 20% travel.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of six years of related work experience, preferably in the Pet food, treats and/or supplement categories
Knowledge of pet category market landscape and key drivers of growth
Previous experience in ingredient sales, with ability to translate complex benefits into relevant and differentiated solutions for our partners Position Information
The expected salary for this position is $130,000- $150,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
