CareYourWay Hiring for HR Assistant at Totnes Full Time

CareYourWay Home Care Ltd & Franchise is seeking to recruit an experienced HR Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. The role will initially be based at the company’s head office near Totnes.

The business operates in the Social Care sector and employs approximately 100 staff across our territory only. We currently have offices in Devon, Aylesbury, Cardiff, Hertfordshire and Nottinghamshire. The HRM department has been developed by a highly experienced (and very friendly!), Director of Human Resources and the successful candidate will work closely with this person, with a particular emphasis on recruitment, talent acquisition, onboarding, reviews. Key focus of the role to include:

• Liaise closely with department managers to review job/person specifications
• Author and publish compelling vacancy advertisements to multiple recruitment job boards
• Assist department managers with candidate shortlisting and interview administration
• To ensure that recruitment processes are compliant and records efficiently stored
• Carry out pre-employment checks, right to work and references
• Provide full administrative support to Director of HR
• Update and maintain HR information systems
• Assist Director of HR with people management projects

• Provide a full admin support to the HR Consultants
• Complete Contracts of Employment for review
• Update Employee Handbooks
• Confident note taker for Hearings.
• Ensure HR related documentation (hard copy and electronic) is appropriately handled, managed and retained in compliance with data protection regulations, including supporting the archiving process
• Ensure all correspondence and documentation produced is accurate and in accordance with approved templates
• Maintain understanding of current employment law regulations
• Ensure Client confidentiality is maintained at all times
• Typing letters in relation to HR issues
• Devise a blog for website – monthly
• Maintain positive working relationships with senior management and staff ensuring processes are properly executed
• Support ad hoc project work, Company and HR initiatives whilst providing administrative services
• Support the oncall service by going on a oncall rota as needed (paid in addition to wage)

The Candidate:

• Previous HR experience is essential
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong IT skills including Word and Excel
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize workloads when necessary
• Good communication and listening skills
• CIPD qualification, although not essential

This is a busy role and will need someone who thrives on being busy yet has a good eye for detail.

For this role we seek a candidate with some experience gained in either a human resources or external/internal recruitment focused role. Candidate’s that have commenced, or wish to commence, studies towards CIPD training are welcome to apply. This is a very people-focused role that will require strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding and sympathetic approach to working within a team.
